Hello, we’re Margo and Eve and we are Whole Body Nutrition

Meet
Margo

My story and why I started Whole Body Nutrition (TW: Disordered eating)

I started WBN after spending years feeling shame, guilt and broken by societal norms and diet culture.

Most of my life I have struggled with body image and disordered eating. Both stemming from childhood trauma, low self esteem and not understanding why I felt so different to my peers. Being late diagnosed neurodivergent meant that as a child I often felt β€œdifferent, unlikeable” and very alone at times. When I realised I was AuDHD it was like a light bulb switched on and suddenly everything made sense. My diagnosis has allowed me to understand myself and my struggles and it has also taught me self compassion, self acceptance and further facilitated my recovery by allowing me to drop many neuronormative standards weighing me down.

I want you to know that I see you. As a parent that wants the best for my children and as someone with lived experience, I understand how hard feeding and eating can be.

My goal for Whole Body Nutrition is to utilise my lived experience and clinical expertise to educate and empower others. To spread the message that all bodies and brains are worthy and valuable.

I want to help Neurodivergent folk of all ages, genders and backgrounds to cultivate an emotionally healthy relationship with food. A relationship that understands, and accepts that there are different ways of eating, and that validates all sensory feeding differences. I want to support ND folk to strip away shame and guilt about eating differences, so they can move towards compassion and acceptance for themselves and their family members.

Meet
Eve

Hi, I am Eve. I am a neurodivergent dietitian and a mum of two humans and two cats. I come to Whole Body Nutrition with shared values and a goal of empowering people to draw on their unique strengths to find their own version of nourishing themselves.

Growing up unaware of my neurodivergence and recovering from an eating disorder was not an easy journey, but it has given me an enormous amount of compassion and has been the spark to my fire of wanting to use my personal growth and professional knowledge to help others.

Having worked for over 15 years as a clinical dietitian in a hospital setting, I deeply understand what it is like navigating the healthcare system as a neurodivergent person and parent. I have a special interest in mental health, eating disorders, gastrointestinal health and PDA (pervasive demand avoidance or persistent drive for autonomy).

I operate from a strengths based and trauma informed position. I consider myself a lifelong learner and value the insights I gain from each therapeutic partnership, working alongside individuals and their families as the experts of their own experience and collaborating with others in their support network.
